We're off to Virginia. See you next week.

Still eating these damn truffles and boy are they good...

So this is what I guess you could call meta-funny...but not meant to be funny? I don't know, I think its hilarious.

I updated my links page with two whole new links! I know, ya didn't think I had it in me. I added a link to Abbey's new site and I ran into Jess Wood yesterday at the baby shower and found out about her cute site too. Also updated Jefie-pooh's link so um, yeah, why don't you peruse the 10 offerings I got there?

Jim is doing all this freelance work at night and won't let me on the computer for more than a half an hour at a time - really there is a reason I am such a lazy poster recently. Anyway, I'm just gonna leave y'all with a little falling bush.

Bye!

Ok, first of all I am on a crazy sugar high, the likes of which have not been seen since Halloween 1980.

I had cake, cupcakes, cookies, and scones and then I managed to polish off like 5 truffles a few minutes ago. I feel bed time is a long long looooooong way off this evening.

Why all the sweetness? Cecily's baby shower of course.

It was at this very cute little tea shop on the upper west side called Alice's Tea Cup - very fancy-fairy like. Perfect for a Cecily event.

So anyhow, funniest/cutest thing from the shindig...someone brought a xerox copy of Cecily from an article that was in Newsday (or some sort of mainstream publication) back in the eighties on "punk teenagers". Oh. My. God. So fucking funny...look!

Even today when I picture Cec in my head she looks like this. But I usually picture in her ever present Catholic Girls skirt. You know the actual real ones that they used to sell overstock of at Unique Boutique on Broadway? All cool girls had one.

Ok, I gotta go run some laps or something....more tomorrow!

A beautiful day in Brooklyn.

This is a good story.

Ok, I just watched CNN and had to donate more money to the humane society for flood relief. There are doggies hanging on to trees for dear life still! And I know there are still human beings up in that shit storm too, but many are not evacuating because they are not allowed to take their pets with them...so help a kitty out and give some dough! Just click on the banner...

Sick 6 days and counting...And I don't make a good patient. I haven't done much that doesn't involve a bed and cold syrup (even missing my beloved Circle Jerks play on Friday night.)

I don't know if this starts tonight or next week, but I will definitely be tuning in.

More dumb cat stuff - I can't get enough. Really. And here is a place to get some good info on your kitty cats as well. I have been looking up kitty info as my cats are a wee bit freaked out by our recent move - one is hiding a lot, the other is crying a lot - all in all not too pleasant. It'll just take some time. They are sensitive little creatures.

Some serious miscasting - Elijah Wood cannot play Iggy Pop. Can not.

And check this dude out.

Oy vey! The landlord says CBGBs lease will not be renewed. Gotta say when I was in there the other night with no air-conditioning, with the pipes overhead dripping on me, using a bic lighter to get down the basement stairs and go to the bathroom, I was thinking "how the hell has this place stayed open this fucking long anyway?"

Seriously, nothing has changed since I hung out there in my late teens/ early twenties. I even went right back to the place I used to stand with my girlfriends at the side/back of the stage. And I was taking photos and this chick who was on the stage was all "you want up?" and pulled me by the arm. And I was like "wow, I feel like I'm 19!" until I realized that my jeans were totally caught on like two nails and that it was causing my leg to cramp and that I was totally gonna break a hip if I tried to jump off...ahhhh, youth....

The disparity between rich and poor continues to grow, no more so than in Manhattan, were the poor make 2 cents for each dollar to the rich. On a similar tip...teeth are a physical reminder of class distinction.

Best moments from Being Bobby Brown.

A day in Greenpoint for $50. I do this all the time for about $5.

This is fun, NPR dissects The Hold Steady lyrics.

Charlize Theron in Arrested Development next season.

U.S. - pretty stupid when it comes to scientific savvy. Not sure we need a study to support that one.

This article is so gay, it makes me wanna pull my myspace profile. Oh, shit, did I just say I had a myspace profile? I don't. I have much more important things to occupy my time than that kinda online bullshit. Next I will be friggin' blogging...Please, I have a life folks. Yeesh.

I have little to add to talk about the New Orleans tragedy. We donated to the Red Cross. I was talking to one of our freelancers at work on Thursday and she told me her sister, who lives in New Orleans was out of the country when this happened (thank god), but that her cats were at home and from what she could tell from the television, her sister's house was completly submerged...So I freaked, and gave some money to the humane society as well.

Don has a friend living there who and he is posting her emails on his blog.

Kanye West, who knew an opportunity when he saw it on live television, said "George Bush does not care about black people."

This footage is amazing to watch, especially for Mike Meyers non-reaction to what Kanye is saying and his ability to stick to the stilted script in the face of such statements as, "They've given them permission to go down and shoot us!" Ho-ly shit! Seriously, click on that link! Or here's a transcript you can read.

And that Mayor Nagin...kinda hot?

August stuff here.
