Chris & Linda had a brunch on Sunday where L & J's new puppies Doomsday and Chumley got to meet Devlin (and the rest us of course!)

Lisa wouldn't stop feeding Devlin beer. Really. There was no stopping her.

Leese and I pass this weird structure on our way home from work. I often wonder who lives (or squats) up there...do you?

What's the truth, can women wait until they are in their mid to late thirties to get pregant or not?

If there are any new mamas out there...swaddling is the answer...to everything.

Heath Ledger is dead. So sad. His daughter is just 2 years old.

I'm also sad, though not to the same extent, that I missed seeing George Saunders at BAM last week. George Saunders rocks.

This story is hysterical. An actual door-to-door tattoo artist hit up residences of Springfield, Misouri. I didn't know there were still door-to-door salespeople of any persuasion...but ok...And people were all, "Why not? Sure, I'll take a tattoo"

This is an old one of Devlin at his Nana's house. I don't know why but I think he looks like such a cute scrunchy face in this.
Devlin and cousin Elle holding hands! C'mon, how cute is that?
And finally, Dev sporting his new suit. Or at least part of his new suit...kinda like a Chippendales dancer. Kids just love being naked, y'know?
He's such a little man now.

Happy Birthday to the sweetest boy in the world.

Promised photos from last weekend's worldwind tour of NYC and Brooklyn:

See that last one of Dev? That is sooooo him. Defiant as all hell. Dada takes him away, cos he's being too rough with Elle, and he turns back and purposely touches her cos he was told not too! He's an anarchist by nature.

And Elle was a little angel.

Devlin's first birthday is in two days. Yup, my beloved baby is no more, he is now my sweet faced toddler. Walkin around, King of the town, always got his window rolled down...he's Devlin.

That said, I have been putting all my extra time & effort (and there is not much of either at the moment) into planning a birthday party and spirtiual dedication ceremony for Dev. I'll let you know if I actually pull it off.

Jim made the invites. Go ahead, tell me how cool they are. My son is a rockstar.

Anyway, we had a great weekend with Lisa & Tom and little cousin Elle. We went to Top of the Rock and posed with the kids in front of the city scape. We went out to eat, Jim & I got "DC" tattoos at East River Tattoo. We met the owner Duke and the newest artist there, who did our beautiful script, Chuck. Photos coming tomorrow.

Ok, now for tuesday's soapbox moment - kid care is expensive. Everything that has to do with raising a kid is expensive. I know people have that attitude like, well you shoulda thought of that before you had one...and to that I say, HEY! if you don't want us raising up little serial killers here lets all get that takes-a-village mentality, sing kumbuya and raise this here child up together. If not at least give us a tax break or some sort of friggin day care system that works.

Someone showed me this site - The Skinny - and its just incredibly ridiculously mundane and fucked up and so of course, I keep going back and reading it over and over and over. Just celebrity bodies disected and commented on like "She looks like she has gained weight" or she looks like she lost weight. Insane. Yet addictive.

Here's a nifty little tuna calculator.

Totally gay, and you know I love it.

So you're going through your dead mother's stuff and you find a baby skeleton? That's gotta be a freak scene.

America's most literate cities.

Grandmaster Flash is at Studio B, down the street, tonight and I'm not. Shit, I'm old.

I haven't even mentioned that Dev is starting to walk, have I?

Happy New Year!!!!!! Best wishes to all around the world... down the block and back again. I love this time of year. I love when people attempt to make changes in their lives, even if it is the same change they try to make every year. Like not biting your nails, or dropping that 10 pounds that just will not drop itself.

AndI also like reflecting on the year before. And boy last year was a doozy. Full of craziness, and chaos, and babies, family, friends, fun times, crappy times, no near-death experiences, but lots of taking of leaps-of-faiths that can be just as scary.

Did you know that we have another new niece that was also born in the 07? Her name is Emma Katherine and she joins Elle as Dev's first cousins! Yay! I can't stop looking at photos of both of them and trying to see how the babies are similar and different. Genetics is just so cool. So the three of them make up the Crosley Posse of 07. When they grow up they will be a gang. But they won't have guns or anything. It will be entirely a style posse, and the girls will be in charge.

Devlin went to his first New Years Eve party at Claudia & Phil's place. And I gotta say, the boy likes a party. He also likes hanging out with guys and scamming them out of their cell phones. Dev is not allowed to use his mom and dad's cells anymore (he's obsessed and is a breaking machine) so these poor rubes, caught up in the big smile and dimples were constantly dropping the cell with Dev. My boy is a hustler. A stone-cold cell phone hustler.
